Lovers of popular HBO programs like Game of Thrones, Veep and Silicon Valley will soon have another way to watch their favorite shows without subscribing to cable- OR the new HBO Now service. Sling TV announced Wednesday that, for $15 a month, users can purchase “linear and Video-On-Demand (VOD) content from HBO.” 

The hackathon is hosted by the Autotech Council, a group formed in 2012 to bring automakers and suppliers together and connect them to startups from around the Bay Area.
