CEA Says Sales-Tax Holidays Boost PC Sales The Consumer Electronics Association released findings that showed that lower income families were more inclined to purchase a home computer system if the sales tax were eliminated, as it was during sales-tax holidays that several states enacted for the back-to-school season. The random survey showed that 27 percent of families with yearly household incomes less than $25,000 would be more likely to buy a home computer if the sales tax were eliminated.
