LAS VEGAS—Cambridge Silicon Radio (CRS) at COMDEX announced a single-chip for Bluetooth applications, the BlueCore01. This marks one of the key necessities industry analysts have marked as being of the key components of Bluetooth's viability in the consumer and business electronics markets, the other being a cost of $5 per chip for OEMs. CRS has only reached an $8.5 price per chip on quantities of 1 million but expects to get that price down by mid-2001.
