The full U.S. Senate gave unanimous approval Monday to a four-month delay of the DTV transition, based on a bipartisan compromise earlier reached by the Senate's Commerce committee.

A Democratically-backed legislative effort to push the DTV transition date from February to June suffered another setback Wednesday, as the key House committee canceled a meeting at which it was to consider the legislation.

A proposal to delay the scheduled DTV transition until June was introduced in the U.S. Senate Friday, but quickly blocked by Republican opponents. Supporters, however, have vowed to try again this week.
