IBM and AWS Expand Relationship to Bring AI to the Drawing Board

Investment firm IBM has announced that its relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing. According to the press release by IBM, the goal is to “help more mutual clients operationalize and derive value from generative artificial intelligence (AI).” The partnership currently serves joint clients across multiple industries with AI, but with the new expansion, these original solutions are improved to assist clients regarding integration and IT on AWS.

The specific solutions are:

  1. Contact Center Modernization with Amazon Connect to “create summation and categorization functions for voice and digital interactions using generative AI”
  2. Platform Services on AWS that “give clients tools to enhance business serviceability and availability for their applications hosted on AWS through intelligent issue resolution and observability techniques”
  3. Supply Chain Ensemble on AWS, which will “introduce a virtual assistant that can accelerate and augment the work of supply chain professionals.”

This is not the first upgrade that IBM has implemented regarding AWS expansion. In fact, IBM has trained consultants on Amazon SageMaker, CodeWhisperer, and Amazon Bedrock. Now, IBM is planning to train 10,000 consultants by 2024 on the AI services AWS provides. In the partnership, IBM consultants “will have access to an exclusive, partner-only program that provides training on the top use cases and best practices for client engagement.”

Clients are already benefiting from the 40-year relationship, and there are future plans for the partnership to grow, with IBM making data stores on AWS Marketplace.
