Jerry Kalov

Jerry Kalov, the first ever recipient of the Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) Lifetime Achievement Award, passed away on March 1 from leukemia, CEA announces. Kalov, who most recently headed Kay Associates, a management consulting firm based in Menlo Park, California, was a long-time leader in the consumer electronics industry and a staunch CEA supporter and committed volunteer. Kalov served as chairman of CEA from 1992 to 1994. Following his chairmanship, he remained an active volunteer leader, serving as industry executive advisor, a member of CEA's executive board and its board of industry leaders. John Froman was kicked upstairs at Circuit City. He is now executive vice president and chief operating officer. Froman joined Circuit City in 1986 and is a Dealerscope Editorial Advisory Board member. Former Target Senior VP Kim D. Maguire filled Froman's old post as Circuit City's new executive vice president of merchandising. Circuit City also named Carl C. Liebert III president of its Northeast operating division, which includes 111 stores located from Pennsylvania through the state of Maine. John Froman was appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer of Circuit City. He most recently held the title of executive vice president of merchandising.
