The Consumer Electronics Association will host a webcast for retailers Wednesday. The purpose is to show member retailers how to better navigate the group's website and take advantage of benefits and resources.
The Electronic Systems Professional Alliance (ESPA) announced Monday that it has named Kerry Moyer its chairman for 2009. Moyer, who is also senior director for strategic relations for the Consumer Electronics Association, rotated into the chairmanship after serving as secretary last year.
The Electronic Systems Professional Alliance (ESPA) said Thursday that it has named four new ex oficio directors to its board, from across the certification, education, and finance sectors. The move is in conjunction with ESPA’s planned launch of new education and certification programs early next year. The new board members are Norah Hammond of the National Systems Contractors Association, Kerry Moyer of the CEA, Jeff Quint of the National Systems Contractors Association, and Margaret Sheehan of CEDIA. They join Chairman Chuck Wilson of ESPA, as well as Secretary Don Gilpin and Treasurer Todd Thibodeaux.
Robert Thompson, a former Maytag Corporation Vice President, was named Managing Director of MARTA Cooperative of America. Thompson spent 32 years with Maytag, working his way up from a Field Market Manager to Vice President of Customer Development. Thompson’s responsibilities at Maytag included Lowe’s, Best Buy, Retail Buying Groups, Telesales, and the Crosley brand. In his role at MARTA, he will be responsible for providing leadership as well as implementing strategic and operational direction for the Scottsdale based buying cooperative.
