Sharp has posted an annual loss of the equivalent of $5.35 billion, and will replace its president and chairman, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Sharp Electronics Corp. announced Thursday that it has named Toshiyuki Osawa the new CEO of the U.S. subsidiary. Osawa replaces Kozo Takahashi, who has been reassigned.
Sharp Electronics announced that it has begun selling the largest LED LCD TV on the market – the 70-inch 120Hz AQUOS Quattron LC-70LE732U ($3,799) – the first model in what will be a four-model series the company will field in 2011 in the 70-inch class.
Sharp Electronics announced last week that Bob Scaglione has been promoted to the position of chief marketing officer. Scaglione was previously senior vice president and group manager for Sharp Electronics Marketing Co.
Sharp Electronics Corp., Sharp's New Jersey-based U.S. subsidiary, on Wednesday named Kozo Takahashi to the position of chairman and CEO, as well as group general manager of Sharp's North and South America Group.
