In advance of International Energy Saving Day--March 5th, 2013--the CEO of BSH has reminded buyers how much energy can be saved by buying energy efficient appliances.

Dr. Kurt-Ludwig Gutberlet, CEO of German-based BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbH has said that a European household fully equipped with super-efficient appliances can expect to save about 300 euros in electricity costs annually. He pointed out that, "Modern BSH home appliances nowadays consume up to 73% less electricity than comparable appliances 15 years ago."

President O. Perry Clay of Sharp Electronics Corp. retired, effective December 31. He had been with Sharp for 17 years, having left Westinghouse Electric Corp. where he served for 23 years. He will continue to serve Sharp as an advisor to the chairman for an agreed period to assure a seamless transition. Sharp has not yet announced who will replace Clay. The company also named Bob Scaglione vice president of marketing of the company's consumer electronics group. Scaglione joined Sharp in 1989 as a sales manager for audio/visual products. Dr. Herbert Wörner will hand the reins of CEO and president of BSH Bosch
