Pacific Media Associates released the results of its annual dealer survey of front projector brands, and the results gave Mitsubishi the "Gold Award," with Epson and Sony, respectively, taking the Silver and Bronze.

Pacific Media Associates (PMA), market information providers on front projectors, recently reported worldwide front projector sell-in shipments topped 1.6 million during the third quarter, a 15.2 percent growth over Q3 2007, and the second consecutive quarter with more 15% year-to-year growth.
Pacific Media Associates’ North American Dealer Survey’s near-final results indicate that front projection displays edge out rear projection and flat panel for watching movies in the home. The results are based on 50 percent of dealers who claim that their customers believe that flat panel and rear projection are all good and well for mainstream television, but that movies benefit more from front projection.
