Architectural audio speaker company Origin Acoustics has just become the worldwide distributor of all Ambisonic Systems products. This means that Origin Acoustics is now the exclusive source for Ambisonic Systems’ first residential speaker, the Landscape Ribbon Six (LSR6).
Ambisonic Systems has spent the last seven years producing pro audio gear for the world’s venues and theaters, and they are leveraging that heritage of designing such systems within the LSR6.
The LSR6 landscape loudspeaker features a proprietary weatherized high-dispersion ribbon tweeter. For a speaker to create the fastest, cleanest reproduction of sound, a ribbon-style driver is practically required, says the company, adding that the LSR6’s 2.7-inch magnetic planar tweeter is the only one like it on the market. The speaker, says the company, uses some of the same materials selected by scientists for space travel.
Their waveguide, described as mathematically precise, improves the beam width to 110 degrees. A neodymium glass-fiber driver provides mid-range clarity, and any of the matching Ambisonic Subwoofers fill out the low end with depth and loudness.
The LSR6 is now available from Origin Acoustics, along with the full line of Ambisonic Systems’ high-performance loudspeakers. Their combined portfolio includes a line of outdoor audio solutions for any situation or location. Custom outdoor soundbars, weatherized line-arrays, triple-bandpass burial subwoofers and more are now available to all Origin Acoustics customers, the announcement states.
