Retail brand leadership is smartest, most effective and most competitive when it walks, talks and builds an unyielding demand for customer kindness.
This Thanksgiving, I was thankful for the great Peter Drucker and his 1973 book, "Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices." More specifically, I was referring to the wisdom of Mr. Drucker, who wrote what I think are the most important five words in that book: "The customer defines the business."
Could it simply be that it’s really about the MUSIC after all? The passion you once had that moved you to open a retail store in order to help others enjoy that same passion for music was always at the heart of it all.
