When six established, high-end integration companies announced their merger earlier this year under the name VIA International, it was the culmination of a nearly two-year process. But now that it's done, the integration and rebranding process is taking place at a quicker-than-expected pace- and the company is eying more acquisitions.
Wednesday's joint CEDIA/CustomRetailer webinar, titled "CEDIA 2.0. Looking Forward. Moving Ahead. Increasing Your Bottom Line," was a huge success, drawing 430 registrants. The live event also drew more than 60 questions, all of which were either answered directly by a CEDIA Board or staff person or will be answered by the beginning of next week.
CEDIA will host an online membership meeting Dec. 27 in order to preview "where CEDIA and industry is headed" in 2012.
CEDIA said Monday that Utz Baldwin has departed his position as CEO. The organization did not announce a replacement, but said that chief operating officer Don Gilpin "will assume a more active role."
