Robert Scaglione

Paul Sikir, vice president of design engineering for Sub-Zero, has been named chairman of AHAM's board of directors. Sikir replaces Robert Scaglione, formerly of Sharp, who resigned his AHAM position.

Now that almost two-thirds of American homes have ditched their old tube televisions for flat-screens and high-definition sets, TV makers are trying to lure consumers back into the stores for the next big thing 3-D TV. To succeed, they want to entice consumers with bundles of 3-D glasses and Blu-ray discs, discounts and special broadcasts of sports events. If all goes as analysts predict, 3-D TV could account for half of all television sales within five years.
