The plasma manufacturers may want to take note of the declining price in LCD. A recent analysis by Pacific Media Associates showed that the average street price in July for 40-inch to 44-inch LCD flat panel televisions and business displays in North America dropped below those for high-definition plasma displays of the same size. According to the research firm, LCDs in this size gained four share points to reach a 46 percent unit market share.
