Distributor Almo Corp. held its fourth and final Almo Pro A/V E4 Expo of the calendar year in the Metro New York City area Nov. 13, attracting over 600 pre-registered dealers to the one-day event – up from about 400 attendees in 2012.  Thirty-five vendors ringed the perimeter of the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, N.J., showing their newest products to dealers, who also availed themselves of 11 educational courses that counted towards InfoComm CTS certification renewals.

Almo Professional A/V this week announced the hiring of a pair of new sales managers. Bob McCormick is the new manager for the Western region while Jennifer Fisher will cover the Northwestern territory.

Almo Professional AV said this week that it is now offering products from Planar. The product available includes LCD video wall systems and digital signage products, large commercial flat screens, touch screens and embedded displays from digital display technology provider.

Almo Professional AV’s “Educate, Explore, Exchange, Expo” show wrapped up a four-city 2011 national tour in New York City on Oct. 27, drawing a record 40 vendors and 400 integrator attendees to the Millennium Broadway Hotel in the heart of the theater district.

At the first of its four yearly Expos, held May 3 in the Philadelphia suburb of Trevose, Pa., near its national headquarters, major appliance and consumer electronics distributor Almo set the template for its next three 2011 regional shows, offering the 300 dealers in attendance an agenda filled with informational and training sessions.  “This event is a buying show, but it’s also all about education,” said Warren Chaiken, president and COO.

Distributor Almo’s Pro A/V group marked the first anniversary of the start of its “E4”  (Educate-Explore-Exchange Expo) series – shows that combine a vendor product exhibition with integrator-oriented educational tracks – in New York City Dec. 15, where the tours began exactly a year ago.
