Panasonic and HSN have partnered on an interactive home shopping app that is launching initially via Panasonic’s Smart VIERA platform on the company’s lineup of 2013 VIERA Connect TVs and Blu-ray players. The HSN Shop By Remote app was jointly demonstrated at a Panasonic pre-CES press briefing Monday by Panasonic Consumer Marketing Company North America president Shiro Kitajima and HSN CEO Mindy Grossman.

Panasonic showed a Consumer Electronics Show press audience Wednesday night what it is calling its VIERA tablet  – an Android-based mobile device that was being formally announced Thursday in Japan and was due to reach global markets later this year, according to Panasonic Consumer Electronics Co. president Shiro Kitajima.

Panasonic and satellite TV service provider DirecTV co-launched on July 1 one of a suite of three dedicated 3D high-definition channels.

Panasonic's first 3D home theater system was sold Wednesday morning. The transaction, totaling $3,157.33, occurred at Best Buy's 24-hour Union Square store in New York City.  Check Dealerscope.com later today for more about the launch and further retail sales plans.
