Stephen John, Vice President, Sales - Magnolia HiFi 1) How did 1998's financial turmoil affect your business? The perception was greater than the reality. We had a very, very, very strong year--much better than expected. We looked carefully at indications that retail was turning sour on us, but on the whole, in terms of the customers, it just didn't happen. The bark was worse than the bite. 2) What's your forecast for 1999, and how will you adjust your business plan to address it? We are a promoting specialist, not a big box. Our challenge is to educate customers, make them less intimidated. HDTV, for example, confuses them.
