The 2015 edition of International CES gets underway Monday with Press Day, with the show floor formally opening Tuesday. 

The founder and chairman of Crestron, George Feldstein, passed away Tuesday after a yearlong battle with brain cancer at the age of 73, the company announced Tuesday night.

At its Fall Conference in Chicago, the Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) presented its annual vendor awards, and the big winner was Sony. Sony was named Vendor of the Year, while its 4K projectors were presented with Best Video Product honors. 

Peachtree Audio on Monday will lunch a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo for its latest product, which it calls deepblue2 - The Ultimate Bluetooth Speaker. The successor to the original deep blue, the deep blue 2 is described by the company as "a fully active 3-way loudspeaker with electronic crossovers and a built-in 440-watt five channel amplifier squeezed into a single 1/2 cubic foot enclosure."

SurgeX announced this week that Jimmy Paschke has joined the company as Southern Regional Sales Manager.
