Ube, the company launched by former CEDIA CEO Utz Baldwin, this week announced the launch of an Indiegogo campaign for its new Wi-Fi connected Smart Dimmer product. The dimmer works by connecting to the user's Wi-Fi network and can be controlled from a smartphone.
Former CEDIA CEO Utz Baldwin has launched a new venture for the connected home market. Ube (pronounced "you-bee") is an app that controls over 200 IP-based smart devices, including smart TVs, set-top boxes, AV receivers and a lot more.
CEDIA said Monday that Utz Baldwin has departed his position as CEO. The organization did not announce a replacement, but said that chief operating officer Don Gilpin "will assume a more active role."
CEDIA Expo in 2010 became the 45th-largest trade show as measured by Trade Show Executive magazine, the association said this week.
At CEDIA EXPO 2011, the organization unveiled a comprehensive data collection initiative it has been working on since May-the Size and Scope of the Residential Electronic Systems Market in the U.S. 2011.
