7 Tips for Engaging with Gen Z on Social Media
For the longest time, every industry has been focused on pleasing millennials. This “largest” generation has been studied, analyzed, flipped every which way, and now they’re fully engrained in our minds and in our workplaces—the last little bit of Gen Y (millennials) is set to graduate college next summer, unless they’re taking an extra lap.
But with all of the focus that millennials have received, shouldn’t we start preparing ourselves for the next set of entrants into the real world? Gen Z has been growing up almost under the radar, but they’re primed to be the most tech-savvy generation we’ve ever seen. Gen Z doesn’t know a world without smartphones. If you thought millennials were a tough group to get the attention of, just wait until you try dealing with the next generation, which, according to some sources, takes the social shopping habits of millennials to a whole different level.
So how can retailers get ahead of the curve and reach this next generation where they’re already fully engaged? For starters, your social media skills are going to need some fine tuning.
