Electronic Custom Distributors Marks 50th Anniversary
Electronic Custom Distributors, Inc., on June 17 celebrated its 50th anniversary with a party for employees, friends and customers at its headquarters in Houston.
The party included such activities as a spinwheel and dunking booth, as well as basketball, while key manufacturers gave away prizes. Fajitas and beer were served, and the Catfish Gypsies provided musical entertainment.
Manufacturers who supported the event included Cable Electronics, Chrysalis, DirectConnect, HAI, Jamo, Niles, OmniMount, Pixel, Russound, Sanus/Chief, Triplett, URC and Xantech.
ECD was founded in June of 1960 by Charlie Provenzano, the father of current CEO Cj Provenzano, along with partner Mel Gordon.
ECD thanked all who helped out with the event, especially spouses and family of employees, including Provenzano's wife Peggy, his sons Brett and Jason, Mark Hudec, the husband of CFO Debbie Hudec and Tammy Harris, wife of general manager Mark Harris.
"Today, we know [my father] is smiling down on us, so I say thank you for all you have done to get us where we are," Provenzano wrote in a letter marking the occasion. "I want to thank Peggy, my wife of 28 years, for her support when work interfered with our family. Thanks to Ruth, my mom, as she still gives me my strategic tips that keep us ahead of the competition. Finally, thanks to all our current staff in Houston and Dallas for making our celebration possible."
