IFA Takes Over Roman Hotel Ahead of Global Press Conference
Dealerscope is in Rome this week to cover the IFA 2018 Global Press Conference event, which allows consumer tech brands to get in front of a select group of media to preview some of the offerings that will launch later this year at IFA 2018 in Berlin. The Global Press Conference, which has been organized for the past dozen years, moves around to different parts of Europe each year—they have us in Rome this year—and provides a relaxed, intimate setting for those in attendance to meet and discuss the latest innovations.
The real news will come later this week as we participate in various Power Briefing events, but what’s impressed us so far is the unrivaled attention to detail that IFA has shown during their setup for the Global Press Conference. To say they’ve taken over the Sheraton Pardo de’ Medici here on the outskirts of Rome would be an absolute understatement. IFA flags fly near the entrance, a giant wooden structure was built at the front of the hotel to inform you who’s occupying the location as you enter, red boxes are stacked and scattered throughout the grounds, and the halls are flooded with branding and other IFA paraphernalia either welcoming you, directing you somewhere, or simply encouraging you to network, relax, and have a good time. We took a quick walk through the hotel ahead of the event getting underway, but trust us, these pictures don’t do justice to the level of attention IFA paid to every aspect of this event.
