Metropolitan West, on the Hudson River, was the venue for this year’s NYC-held Luxury Technology Show on Oct. 4. Here are some of the products, aimed squarely at aspirational techies, that were demonstrated there.

ShadeCraft’s Armen Gharabegian, with his company’s Sunflower, the world’s first robotic shading system that is powered with solar energy and will track the sun’s position and move the umbrella accordingly. It is endowed with GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, a rotating HD security camera, voice activation and controls, loudspeakers that stream audio, controllable lighting and the ability to charge external devices. A limited-edition model will be available in 2018.
