BeOn's starter pack ($129) includes three bulbs – each is rated at 10 watts but produces 60 watts of light - and they are controllable via an app. Additional bulbs can be added to the system at $40 each, and a $29.95 remote is also available as an accessory. The bulbs have a 20-year light life and each has five hours of power stored in the removable/rechargeable smart module, for when power failures occur. The smart modules can record and replay lighting pattern use to outsmart potential burglars.
