Dealerscope hosted its first-ever Retailer Meetups at CE Week on Tuesday, July 11, as a preamble to the 10th anniversary edition of the CE Week tech show it annually produces each summer in New York City, which opens Wednesday, July 12.
This inaugural event mixed high-touch networking sessions with strictly orchestrated 15-minute conversations between a VIP group of invited retailers/distributors and vendors who opted into the program as sponsors, providing these business partners an intense, full-day window for give-and-take sessions on new products and technologies.
The goal for vendors was to gain valuable face-time with these retailer and distributor influencers, while they, for their part, were introduced to these vendors’ latest product innovations.
Eric Schwartz, managing director for CT Lab/Dealerscope characterized the Meetups as an “information-packed experience that was designed to afford everyone involved the opportunity to grow consumer technology industry relationships, or to forge new ones that didn’t exist before. For the VIP guests, it’s a chance to learn about new products they may not have known about before. It’s a win-win, all around. This is a unique-to-our-industry event. It’s where everyone can learn, network and enjoy the experience, in the interest of closer cooperation within our business.”
“It was an incredible opportunity,” said Tom Campbell, chief technologist and corporate director for Southern California retailer Video and Audio Center, and one of the VIP guests who participated in Meetups. “It was quality face-time with manufacturers and fellow retailers, and was one of the most personal one-on-one events with suppliers.”
We’ll feature more from this singular event in the next days, so stay tuned.
